John The Baptist Sends Messengers To Jesus

Now, in his prison by the Bitter Sea, the harbinger had heard of all the mighty works that Jesus did. His prison life was hard, and he was sore distressed, and he began to doubt. And to himself he said,

“I wonder if this Jesus is the Christ of whom the prophets wrote!
Was I mistaken in my work?

Was I, indeed, one sent from God to pave the way for Him who shall redeem our people, Israel?”

And then he sent some of his friends, who came to see him in his prison cell, up to Capernaum that they might learn about this man, and bring him word. The men found Jesus in His home, and said, “Behold the harbinger sent us to ask, ‘Are you the Christ? Or is he yet to come?’ ” But Jesus answered not. He simply bade the men to tarry certain days that they might see and hear. They saw Him heal the sick, cause the lame to walk, the deaf to hear and the blind to see. They saw Him cast the evil spirits out of those possessed. They saw Him raise the dead. They heard Him preach the gospel to people.

Then Jesus said to them, “Go on your way. Return to John and tell him all that you have seen and heard.” Then he will know. They went their way.

Then the disciples of John reported to him concerning all these things. And John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to Jesus, saying, "Are You He who is to come, or shall we look for another?"

When the men had come to Him, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, 'Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?'" And they witnessed Jesus cured many of infirmities, solve afflictions, and cast out evil spirits; and to many blind He gave sight.

Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and people have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me." - Everybody should bear his karmic debts and responsibilities without complains, curses and regrets, and without blaming God for his afflictions. This is because humanity reincarnate here not earth to correct the wrongs that they have done, to suffer for the sins they failed to atone for or to continue from where they stopped in the previous lifetimes.

Jesus Confirms John De Baptist As Elijah Reincarnated
The multitudes were there, and Jesus said to them, “Once you were crowding Jordan's fords. You filled the wilderness. What did you go to see? The trees of Judea, and the flowers of Heth? Or did you go to see a man in kingly clothing? Or did you go to see a prophet and a seer? I tell you, men, you know not whom you saw. A prophet? Yes, and more. A messenger whom God had sent to pave the way for what you see and hear this day. Among the men of earth a greater man than John has never lived.

“Behold I say, “This man whom Herod bound in chains and cast into a prison cell is God's Elijah come again to earth. Elijah, who did not pass the gate of death, whose body of this flesh was changed, and he awoke in Paradise. When John came forth and preached the gospel of repentance for the cleansing of the soul, the people believed and were baptized. The lawyers and the Pharisees accepted not the teachings of this man, and were not baptized.

“Behold, neglected opportunities will never come again. Behold, the people are unstable as the waters of the sea. They seek to be excused from righteousness.
John came and ate no bread, and drank no wine. He lived the simplest life apart from men, and people said, ‘He is possessed.’
Another comes who eats, drinks and lives in homes like other men, and people say, ‘He is a glutton, an inebriate, a friend of publicans and those who sin.’”

When the messengers of John had departed, He began to speak to the multitudes concerning John:

"What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments?

Indeed those who are gorgeously dressed and live in luxury are in kings' courts. But what did you go out to see?

A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.

This is he of whom it is written:

'Behold, I send My messenger before Your face,

Who will prepare Your way before You.'

For I say to you, among those born of women there is no greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."

And when all the people heard Him, even the tax collectors justified God, having been baptized with the immersion baptism of John. But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, and were not baptized by him.

And the Lord said, "To what then shall I liken the men of this generation?

And what are they like? They are like children sitting in the marketplace

and calling to one another, saying: 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance. We mourned to you, and you did not weep.' For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.'

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, 'Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' But wisdom is justified by all her children."

Explanations:

1.     When you are in doubt or confused, do ask questions.

2.     You can go into prayers to ask God for clarifications and guidance.

3.     John was asking the question because he was afraid of death, and he expected Jesus to use His mighty power to deliver him from the government, which was about to kill him.

4.     Jesus did not deliver him from the persecution, because it was necessary for John to die, in order for him to pay for those prophets of Baal he killed when John was Elijah.

5.     The great lesson is that everybody should endeavour to do the will of God, in order to attain heaven.

6.     Whoever that fails or refuses to keep the laws of God shall not be saved by the blood of Jesus.

7.     And Jesus made it clear that the kingdom of heaven is for those who do the will of God.

8.     People shall be saved, not by grace alone. But, by faith, by works and by grace.

9.     By faith, because the person must first believe in God, and accept Jesus as his personal Lord and Saviour.

10.            By works, because the person must keep the original Ten Commandments of God; and observe the Seven Annual Festivals of God, which festivals Jesus regularly attended; and by abiding in the paths of  righteousness.

11.            And by grace, because the righteousness of man is not sufficient enough. Therefore, man has to be perfected with the blood of Jesus.

12.            God’s judgement is already set by His word.

13.            There is no partiality or favouritism in judgement. The laws of God, which are universal, unchanging, active, intelligent and impartial.

14.            They hold true, irrespective of age, sex, tribe, language or location.

15.            Therefore, in every situation abide by the laws of God, in order to avoid unpleasant karma in your present and future lifetimes.
